The answer depends on your sofa. If it was made before 1995, has a hardwood frame (oak, maple, alder), eight-way hand-tied springs or quality sinuous springs, and the frame is structurally sound — reupholstering is almost always the better choice. The frame is the expensive part, and it's already paid for.
If your sofa was bought after 2010 from a big-box store, has a particleboard or pine frame, and shows broken joints when you sit on it — reupholstery may cost more than the piece is worth. We tell you honestly which category your piece is in during the consultation.
We're happy to talk through your specific situation. No pressure, no commitment.
