Window benches, banquette dining, foot-of-bed seating, mudroom benches, and commercial seating — fabricated start-to-finish from your spec or our design direction.
Built-in benches are where great houses live: the window seat with a lake view, the mudroom bench that holds twenty years of jackets, the banquette where Sunday breakfast happens. Built-ins also fail differently from freestanding furniture — they need to integrate with millwork, accommodate cabinet pulls, and be fabricated to a measurement, not a model number.
Every custom bench begins the same way — at your home, with a tape measure.
A craftsman measures the space, discusses use case, and reviews construction options (kiln-dried hardwood, plywood box, hybrid).
You receive a written specification with a sketch — dimensions, frame construction, cushion specification, fabric direction, and price.
Frames are built in our Reno shop. For long-runs (banquettes > 8′), we use kiln-dried hardwood with mortise-and-tenon joinery. For mudroom benches, kiln-dried plywood with hardwood face frames.
Cushion cores are cut from high-density foam, wrapped in Dacron, and seamed. Channel-stitched, button-tufted, and welted options are available.
We deliver and install. Built-in pieces are leveled, scribed to wall imperfections, and toe-kicked where required.
For lake-house and family environments we recommend Crypton or Sunbrella in a natural-weave look. For formal banquette dining, mohair velvet or wool boucle. For mudroom seating, performance vinyl or solution-dyed acrylic to handle wet and muddy use.
