Channel-tufted, button-tufted, nailhead, wing, and minimalist upholstered headboards — fabricated to your bed size, ceiling height, and fabric direction.
A great headboard does two things at once: it organizes the room around the bed, and it holds the room together when the bed isn’t made. Off-the-shelf headboards rarely accomplish either. They sit at a standard height, in a standard width, in a standard fabric — and they fight against the room rather than completing it. A custom headboard, fabricated to your bed, your ceiling, and your fabric, simply settles in.
Every custom headboard begins with the room — not the bed.
We visit the bedroom, measure the bed and the ceiling height, photograph the existing materials (wall color, draperies, rug, bedding), and discuss silhouette options.
We sketch silhouette options with dimensions and fabric direction. You see proportional drawings before fabric is cut.
Kiln-dried hardwood frame, sized to your bed (King, Cal King, Queen, etc.) with optional ceiling-extension for statement walls.
Channel-stitched, button-tufted, nailhead-trim, wing, or minimalist construction. Each detail method has different fabric requirements — we plan for those at the spec stage.
Headboards are wall-mounted (French cleat) or bed-mounted (frame brackets), depending on bed type and preference.
Mohair velvet remains the most-spec’d luxury fabric for headboards — luster, durability, and patina all reward the application. Performance velvets in the Crypton line are excellent for family bedrooms. Linen, wool boucle, and silk-blend are all routinely used in our work.
