The ottoman is the most versatile piece in upholstered furniture: footstool, occasional seating, coffee table (with a tray), storage. Originated in 18th-century Ottoman Empire and largely unchanged in three hundred years, the form rewards careful execution — particularly in the cushion-top tension and the trim detail.

You choose the silhouette (cocktail, cube, pouf bench, drum), the size, and the fabric direction. We provide a sketch and a price.
Kiln-dried hardwood frame with internal cross-bracing. Storage ottomans get a lift-top mechanism specified at order time.
Cocktail ottomans receive a tight-top cushion with no give (suitable for tray service). Footstools receive a soft-top with high-density foam and Dacron wrap.
Welt, button-tufting, channel-stitching, nailhead trim, or plain. Each detail method has fabric implications planned at spec.

Leather (aniline or semi-aniline) is the classic cocktail ottoman fabric. Mohair velvet for statement pieces. Performance velvet for family rooms. For pouf benches, slip-resistant performance linen on a textured weave.

For tray service we recommend a tight-top construction with minimal Dacron wrap. The result is firm but not hard — comparable to a well-built bench cushion.
